Back To Normal...nearly

Looks like everything is just about back to normal here on sweetthing's half acre. I took an early morning stroll with my camera and it looks pretty good all things considered. The treerats are coming back in to squabble with the Blue jays over the corn and sweetthing allows she sees the rabbits when she walks the pups at night. My neighbor says there is a possum running loose in the neighborhood..I promised him I wouldn't eat it....

These Republican ears I planted last winter are coming up and looking pretty good..I may put in some more next year. Do you know why the symbol of the Republican party is an elephant? I don't either but maybe because an elephant looks like a horse designed by a committee..and that describes the way the current crop of republicans think..



When I bought these Begonias three years ago the tag in the pot allowed they were annuals...hmmm. They just keep on keeping on so I transplanted them back in March to a flower bed. Still keeping on keeping on...



My Rose bed doesn't look so hot. I was hoping that putting the roses in a bed with full sun would help to keep the black spot off of them but no such luck. It is a continuing fight and about the time I think I have beat the disease it comes back. But Roses are resilient...it takes a lot to kill them and they will just keep on putting on buds as long as there is a few healthy leaves.



I like to look at the roses in the garden but sweetthing insists on cutting them for the table..they are pretty and I supposed one of these days I need to buy her one of those vases to put them in..how do you say the word..Vase or vazzz. Being a redneck I just call it a narrow lipped jug..
